"O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall (all) be gathered." [Surah al-Anfaal, Ayah 24]
My Response: This ayah is emphasizing the importance to responding to Allah and doing things for the sake of Allah. Allah is the Creator of everything. He is our Lord, our Sustainer, and none but Him has the right to be worshipped. Allah has every right to ask us to do anything for Him (even though He does not need us). We need Allah. Therefore, we must answer to the call of prayer and engage ourselves in constant dhikr of our Lord and Sustainer, Allah.
